This piece is made in 3 layers. The main building is 1/2" wood and painted with red bricks, tan stone, and windows. The trim pieces at the top, base, and middle are cut from 1/4" wood. The door is cut from 1/4" wood and glued to the back of the piece to create depth. The "Hook & Ladder 8" above the door is done with vinyl letters in black.
